Home Buying Process

Due to overwhelming interest for Barratt American homes, we have developed a program to create a fair and smooth process for purchasing a Barratt home.

Understanding our Home Buying Program will be important for you during this exciting time in your life.

The first step is to join the INTEREST LIST
When you join the Interest List for a specific community, you will receive regular email updates. Joining this list will also ensure you receive notification about special events, the prequalification process and general project progress. It is very important that we have your full contact information including a valid email and mailing address so that you won't miss out on the opportunity to purchase a home.

The second step is to PREQUALIFY with BAMC Mortgage
Prequalification is the step that will move you from the Interest List to the Priority List. In most cases, only those who Prequalify will receive invitations to Phase Releases for an opportunity to purchase a Barratt home. Be sure to keep us updated on any changes to both your email and mailing address at this stage, as we definitely want to keep you informed.

Prequalification can be done by selecting the Prequalify Now option from the Barratt American website (located within each community section). This option will only appear if Prequalification is open.

The final step is to move onto the PRIORITY LIST
To be eligible to purchase a Barratt home during a Phase Release, you must be on the Priority List. The Priority List is formed based on the date/time the Prequalification form* is received through BAMC Mortgage.

*Please note that in all cases Barratt will give priority to non-contingent homebuyers first.
